On November 17, 2021 Emirates Health Services in collaboration with College of Nursing, Gulf Medical University organized an International Webinar for National Nursing undergraduate & graduate students on “NURSING INFORMATICS & DIGITAL HEALTH: PAVING THE WAY FOR FUTURE GENERATION”.
The Webinar was held over 2 1/2 hours which focused on ‘Nursing Informatics & Digital Health’. It was an enriching webinar with international speakers from UK & USA who have specialized in this field.
Dr. Sumaya Mohamed AlBlooshi, Prof.Hossam Hamdy, Prof, Selva Titus Chacko & Ms. Farha Hisham Hijji were on hand to open the Webinar. Dr. Sumaya Mohamed AlBlooshi, Director of Nursing, Emirates Health Services, UAE welcomed the distinguished speakers, Undergraduate & Graduate Students &Academicians from all the Universities in UAE, Nursing EHS Informatics Team for the Webinar, friends & well-wishers. The Keynote Speaker was Prof.Hossam Hamdy, Chancellor, Gulf Medical University emphasized the importance of Health Informatics among the health professional students and explained about the 3 levels of digital courses which is being introduced in GMU.
All the speakers addressed the various topics with passion and also their personal journey in the field which was a motivation to each student. The Webinar participants had the opportunity to ask questions and clarify their doubts with the speakers. We trust t this webinar would be a trigger for curriculum reformation which emphasizes the importance of Informatics and Digital Health in the Colleges of Nursing in the UAE region.
