The Innovation and Research Centre, the Thumbay Institute of Precision Medicine and Translational Research (TIPM&TR) and the Thumbay Institute of Healthcare Workforce Development and Leadership have greatly transformed the training and research facilities of Gulf Medical University. Through these institutes, GMU seeks to initiate international collaboration by bringing together leaders in science and the entire scientific community including the academia and industry to foster creativity and enhance innovation in a rapidly changing world. These will form an important part of the university’s strategic and thematic planning, to significantly raise its profile and reflect it’s considered long-term priorities.

Thumbay Institute for Precision Medicine and Translational Research (TIPM&TR)

The Institute for Precision Medicine and Translational Research is the hub for postgraduate studies in the Biomedical Sciences, translational research and innovation. Considerable investment has been allocated in establishing an international partnership. It was inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi on 20th March 2017

A state of art Medical Research Facility named Thumbay Institute of Precision Medicine and Translational Research (TIPM&TR) the apex lab of Thumbay Labs was inaugurated on 13th January 2014 by His Highness Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council UAE & Ruler of Ajman and set up within the premises of the Gulf Medical University at Ajman, UAE.

Thumbay Institute of Population Health

The Institute of Population Health focuses on postgraduate studies and research in the fields of public health, Epidemiology, Evidence Based Medicine, Big Data Analysis, Evidence Based Medicine & Policy and Global Health

Thumbay Institute of Healthcare Workforce Development and Leadership

The Institute of Health Workforce Development & Leadership builds on and expand the existing “Center for Advanced Simulation in Healthcare” (CASH) and the “Center for Continuing Education and Community Outreach” (CCE&CO) and the new “Center for Health Professions Education and Research” (CHPER). Its main goals is to respond to national, regional and international shortage and need for competent health workforce, “Doctors, Pharmacist, Dentist, Nurses, Paramedics and All Allied Health”. In addition to Postgraduate programs, the institute will offer in collaboration with the collage of Medicine, ‘Health Proffessions Education Programs’, Master Diploma and Certificate and conduct research in the field of medical education, simulation and training
