On February 21, 2024 The UAE Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) held a Certificate awarding ceremony for ‘CAA certified reviewers of the 6th cycle in Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU), Dubai.
Building the skills and capabilities of academics in higher education institutions in the UAE is one of the priorities of the national agenda and the future vision of the UAE. The CAA as part of the UAE Ministry of Education (MoE) seeks to prepare and qualify academics in UAE as ‘Certified Reviewers’ to support and participate in the review of higher education institutions and their academic programs using the 2019 Standards and international best practices.
The Certification was issued was by Prof. Mohamed Yousuf Banyas, Higher Education Advisor & Director of CAA along with the fellow Commissioners.

The journey to become a ‘Certified Reviewer’ of CAA commenced in December 2022 from being selected by CAA to attend the 6th cycle of the CAA Certified Reviewer Project of MOE, UAE in 2023. It included participating in 3 specialized training workshops over a period of one year with group work, personal assignments and Onsite Practical Experience.
This certification signifies expertise in evaluating academic programs and institutions according to the CAA’s established 2019 Standards and criteria.
