The College of Nursing, Gulf Medical University (GMU) conducted a First Aid Awareness Training Program for the teachers of Delhi Private School (DPS), Ajman, on 11th September 2025. A total of 90 schoolteachers participated in the session, which focused on equipping them with essential first aid knowledge and practical skills.
The highlight of the training was its experience-based approach, where teachers were guided through real-life scenarios to strengthen their ability to provide timely and effective responses. The program emphasized the critical role of teachers in ensuring student safety, as their awareness and quick action can significantly reduce the risk of severe injuries and complications among school children. Key topics covered included: Recovery position, Control of bleeding, Management of fractures and impaled objects, Response to choking and Handling convulsions.

Participants were given the opportunity to practice these skills through hands-on training, ensuring better retention and confidence in applying first aid measures during emergencies.
The session was led by Dr. Sija Binoy, Faculty, College of Nursing, GMU, whose expertise and interactive teaching style were well appreciated. Teachers expressed their happiness and gratitude for being part of this impactful session, recognizing its relevance to their day-to-day responsibilities in school.

The school authorities also extended their appreciation to the College of Nursing, GMU, for organizing such a valuable training program and empowering teachers with life-saving skills.
