First Aid & CPR Training

As part of Gulf Medical University’s (GMU) commitment to equipping students with essential life-saving skills, a First Aid and CPR training session was conducted for Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) students across all four years (I, II, III, and IV). This initiative is in alignment with GMU’s institutional requirements to ensure students are prepared to respond effectively in emergencies both within clinical settings and the community. The training was structured into theoretical and practical sessions to ensure comprehensive learning. Key topics included: Basic principles of first aid and personal safety, Assessing the scene and patient, managing bleeding, shock, fractures, and burns. CPR for adults, children, and infants following the latest American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines and AED operation and deployment.

The training was conducted on two days i.e. 15th January 2025 for BSN first & third year students and 17th January 2025 for BSN second & fourth year students. The training was well-received, with active participation from students across all levels. Students successfully cleared the assessments related to the training and Certificate of attendance was awarded to all participants, fulfilling GMU’s requirement for competency in First Aid and CPR.
