The College of Nursing successfully organized the first Internal Faculty Development Program for the Semester on “Enhancing Teaching Strategies” A Workshop on Team-Based Learning (TBL) and Problem-Based Learning (PBL)” was conducted on February 7th, 2025, by Dr. Soma Ibrahim Ali. The workshop aimed to enhance the understanding and application of TBL and PBL in nursing education.

The primary objective of this workshop was to equip faculty with the purpose of incorporating Team-Based Learning (TBL) and Problem-Based Learning (PBL) in student teaching. Insights on how to conduct both approaches were shared from personal experience by Dr. Soma with examples It aimed to differentiate both approaches in terms of structure, implementation, and outcomes. Participants explored the benefits and challenges of each method.

The faculty members actively engaged in discussions and demonstrated enthusiasm for incorporating TBL and PBL strategies into their teaching methodologies. Feedback from participants indicated that the workshop was informative, well-structured, and highly relevant to their teaching needs.

The workshop strengthened the confidence of faculty and to, foster innovative teaching methodologies, and enhancing the overall quality of nursing education. Faculty were encouraged to report the use of incorporating TBL & PBL in their teaching and share the feedback in the future sessions.
