The College of Nursing at Gulf Medical University hosted an engaging career advising session on “Mastering Professional Communication: Essential Skills for Nursing Career Success” on 29th January 2025. Led by Ms. Nawal Al Balooshi, an expert in HR consultancy, the session emphasized the critical role of communication in professional growth, particularly in nursing.


Students gained valuable insights into verbal and non-verbal communication for career advancement. Ms. Nawal shared real-life experiences, making the session highly interactive and inspiring. Activities such as role-playing, use of body language, and demonstrations of simple actions like shaking hands kept students engaged, helping them refine their communication skills in a practical setting.

Ms. Nawal shared strategies for handling workplace misunderstandings, managing stress during conversations, and adapting communication styles based on different professional settings. She also addressed communication technology, guiding students on using professional networking platforms like LinkedIn.
