It is not unknown that many people die suffering from various injuries around the world. People no one has the idea that this number could have gone down if people suffering received First Aid at the appropriate time. Saving lives is the goal of World First Aid Day.
Every year, the Red Cross and Red Crescent National Societies all around the globe take this opportunity to engage with their communities through awareness activities promoting and celebrating the importance of First Aid. This year, First Aid goes digital! World First Aid Day 2023 will focus on the theme of “First Aid in the Digital World”.
The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), Gulf Medical University and Emirates Red Cresent of United Arab Emirates jointly celebrated Global First Aid Day on 09th September 2023. Keeping in mind the theme of the year, Dr. Fawzi Amin, Head of IFRC inaugurated the celebration. He also invited Head of Ajman Branch, Emirates Red Crescent Society along with 10 volunteers for the celebration. IFRC application on First Aid was introduced by Dr. Baljinder Singh, Head of Emergency Department, Thumbay University Hospital to the audience. Ms. Sija Binoy, Lecturer, College of Nursing, introduced Kahoot, game-based online learning platform to the group. Game based First Aid quiz was arranged by Ms. Sija Binoy for the group which was a learning and fun-time experience. Everyone who participated in the event appreciated the learning experience.
