The CoN, GMU celebrated International Nurses Day on 10th May 2023 between 3.00-4.00pm at LH1. The event was a representation of the ‘Academic Health System’ with participation of students, staff from TUH hospital, Nursing leaders from the Hospital & University, and administrators from the University & Hospital. The Chief guest for the occasion was Dr. Mary Boyd, Dean, Faculty of Nursing & Midwifery, Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland & Chief of Nursing Services, Sheikh Khalifa Medi-city, Ajman and. The Dean Prof. Selva Titus Chacko unveiled the Theme for the International Nurses Day 2023, “Our Nurses, Our Future”. Prof. Manda Venkatramana, Vice Chancellor Academics, GMU gave the Inaugural Address and released the 2nd Issue of the Newsletter “Inspire Us”. The Chief guest addressed the gathering by an insightful talk emphasizing on “Surge, Sustain and Invest/Rebuild: Implications for the nurse workforce”. Ms. Justina Nancy Mendonca, CNO Thumbay Group of Hospitals facilitated the gathering. The students were awarded with certificates for participation of various events in the ‘Student Nurses Club’ such as JAM Session, quiz etc. The outgoing Executive committee members were honoured with appreciation certificates. The celebration ended by cutting a cake by the dignitaries and student representatives. This was followed by cultural event by the students.
