The Annual GMU Research Day was held on 9 and 10 March 2023, organized by the Thumbay Research Institute for Precision Medicine (TRIPM) and the various colleges at Gulf Medical University. The event showcased research from all colleges at GMU, as well as clinical research at Thumbay Hospital, with a total of 32 research projects presented by faculty members and 63 posters displayed and presented by students. The studies presented included observational and experimental research conducted at GMU, including TRIPM, research laboratories at different colleges, and the University hospital. Participants included students, faculty, and researchers who showcased their research outcomes and perspectives.
The Research Day featured one international keynote speaker: Dr. Rita Fior from Champalimaud Center for the Unknown, Champalimaud Foundation, Portugal. who spoke about “Zebrafish Avatars towards personalized medicine and the study of innate-immune interactions”.
