Dr. Veena M. Joseph serves as an Assistant Professor of Medical-Surgical Nursing at the College of Nursing, Gulf Medical University (GMU), Ajman, UAE. She has been a valued member of the faculty since 2021. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1990, where she was awarded the President’s Gold Medal for Academic Proficiency. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing in Maternity Nursing in 1998, and a PhD in Obstetrics and Gynaecological Nursing from Chettinad Academy of Research and Education, Chennai (2016). Her academic excellence and research contributions were recognized with the Citation for Academic Excellence and Research Award by the International Centre for Collaborative Research (ICCR) and the Alumni Association of Omayal Achi College of Nursing in 2016. She also received the Best Nurse Educator Award in 2011 from the Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council.

With 25 years of undergraduate and 17 years of postgraduate teaching experience, and 14 years in academic administration, Dr. Veena M Joseph is a seasoned nursing educator, researcher, and leader.

Dr. Joseph has served in key academic leadership roles including Member of the Board of Management, Chairperson of the Nursing Curriculum Committee and Board of Studies and has contributed to strategic and quality initiatives as a member of several institutional committees such as the Planning and Monitoring Committee, Publication Oversight Committee, Institutional Human Ethics Committee, and Internal Quality Assurance Committee.

She has also served as an Inspection Panel Member for the Indian Nursing Council and the Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council and was Editorial Advisor for the Chettinad Health City Medical – International Peer Reviewed Journal.

Dr. Joseph has published extensively in national and international indexed journals, contributed chapters to textbooks, obtained copyrights, and presented her research at various scientific forums. She has also been a resource person at numerous workshops and conferences and has organized events at the state, regional, national, and international levels, both virtually and in person.
