Dr. Soma Ibrahim Ali is an Assistant Professor of Mental Health Nursing at the College of Nursing, Gulf Medical University (GMU), Ajman, UAE, where she has been a faculty member since 2020.

She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Suez Canal University, Egypt in 2006. She went on to earn her Master’s degree in Mental Health Nursing in 2013 and her PhD in Nursing in 2017 from Port Said University, Egypt. Dr. Soma has a strong interest in medical education and pursued a Master’s in Health Professions Education (MHPE) from Gulf Medical University. She successfully completed the program and was awarded the MHPE degree in 2024. Further extending her expertise, she was awarded a Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) in December 2024.

Her research interests span across Schizophrenic Disorders, Child Psychology, and Health Professions Education. She has served as a junior supervisor for three Master theses in Psychiatric Nursing and has numerous national and international publications, particularly emphasizing mental health disorders and child psychology. Dr. Soma has actively contributed to workshops and academic events both in Egypt and the UAE.
