We are delighted to announce the recent publication of a collaborative research article in the Plants journal (Q1, 6.5, Impact Factor: 4.0), guided by Dr. Naglaa Saad, and co-authored by the MDD student Aya Salim, and Scholarly Pathway students Alya Arasteh, Ruqaiya Sahrish, and Danya Labash.

The article, titled “Comparative Metabolic Profiling and Biological Evaluation of Essential Oils from Conocarpus Species: Antidiabetic, Antioxidant, and Antimicrobial Potential” presents a comprehensive study on the therapeutic promise of Conocarpus essential oils through integrated phytochemical and bioactivity analyses.
This publication is a result of interdisciplinary collaboration—emerging from Aya Salim’s thesis project within the MDD program and the research initiatives of undergraduate students enrolled in the Scholarly Pathway track. The project exemplifies the MDD program’s commitment to fostering research excellence and cross-level student mentorship.
We extend our warmest congratulations to Dr. Naglaa, Aya, Alya, Ruqaiya, and Danya on this accomplishment, and we look forward to seeing more outstanding contributions from our student researchers and faculty members.
