On March 19, 2021, Dr. Joseph A. Zorek of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio conducted a class in the GMU Certificate Course Drug Information Management in Interprofessional Care.

Dr. Zorek is a widely known expert in interprofessional education and care, leading “Linking Interprofessional Networks for Collaboration” at the University of Texas Health Science Center (UT Health) at San Antonio. He recently published a book Interprofessional Practice in Pharmacy, featuring illustrated case studies. Dr. Zorek visited UAE in early 2020 to expand interprofessional education and care in UAE. Since then, he guides the expansion of interprofessional education and care at GMU academic health center.
Drug Information Management in Interprofessional Care Certificate Course is offered jointly by the Center for Drug Information & Evidence-Based Pharmacy at Thumbay University Hospital managed by GMU College of Pharmacy and Center for Interprofessional Education, Research and Practice at GMU led by College of Pharmacy. The course is offered to different healthcare professionals and interns, focusing on managing evidence-based drug information and improving collaborative care.
