Prof. Dixon Thomas Presented his Research at WFME World Conference 2025, Bangkok

On May 26, 2025, Prof. Dixon Thomas from the College of Pharmacy at Gulf Medical University (GMU) presented his latest research at the WFME World Conference 2025, held from May 25 to 28 at the Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Centre, Thailand. The title of the presentation was “Contextual Surprise in Communication to and for Patients,” contributing to conversations on effective communication strategies in patient care.

Organized by the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) in collaboration with the Institute for Medical Education Accreditation (IMEAc), the WFME World Conference 2025 brought together medical educators, policymakers, and healthcare professionals from around the globe. This year’s theme, “Health for All – Through Quality Medical Education,” emphasized the critical role of education in achieving universal health coverage and improving patient outcomes.

Prof. Thomas attended the WFME conference with a travel grant from GMU. Such conference participation improves research discussions and new ideas to improve health professions education.
