In line with the ongoing community engagement activities, the Final year PharmD students at Gulf Medical University’s College of Pharmacy conducted a community engagement activity at Al-Helio Park in Ajman. The theme of the event was ‘Ask your pharmacist’ and the objective was to create consumer awareness on the professional role of pharmacists and to provide drug and health-related information to general public.
During this four hour event, the students displayed awareness posters and distributed medicine information pamphlets made in both English and Arabic languages.
The education was provided under the supervision of licensed pharmacists and the public were educated about their medical conditions, medications, and lifestyle customized to their individual requirements.
While the parents were busy talking with some pharmacy students, their children were kept engaged and entertained with various games by another group of pharmacy students.
This event was an excellent opportunity for GMU Doctor of Pharmacy students to practice their pharmacy skills as communicators, educators, health promoter and advocates for their patients.
