Students from the Master of Science in Drug Discovery and Development (MDD) program at the College of Pharmacy, Gulf Medical University, actively participated in the Second International Conference for Pharmacy Students (ICPS-II), hosted by the University of Sharjah on April 8–9, 2025. Held under the theme “Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Pharmacy,” the conference brought together pharmacy students from across the UAE to present and discuss their scientific and practical projects spanning diverse areas such as pharmaceutics, pharmacology, drug discovery, and clinical pharmacy.

MDD students showcased their research and thesis work through poster presentations, reflecting the program’s emphasis on translational research, innovation in drug development, and the integration of cutting-edge science into healthcare solutions. Their participation not only demonstrated the program’s academic rigor but also underscored their preparedness to contribute meaningfully to the evolving pharmaceutical landscape.
The conference provided an engaging platform for students to connect with healthcare and pharmaceutical professionals, gain insights into the qualifications and skills required for a successful career in pharmacy, and explore current trends in the field. Key topics addressed during the event included artificial intelligence in pharmacy, sustainable pharmaceutical practices, personalized drug delivery systems, and advances in therapeutic strategies and modern pharmacology.
We extend our congratulations to all MDD participants for their outstanding engagement and contributions to this important academic event. Their presence at ICPS-II reflects the growing impact and visibility of GMU’s graduate pharmacy programs within the national and regional research communities.
