On July 28th, 2021, Master of Science in Drug Discovery and Development (MDD) students, Ms. Reham Khaled Abu Hijjleh and Mr. Samiullah Shabbir published an article in PeerJ Life & Environment Journal with their supervisor (Dr. Ahmed Al Abd). The publication is a collaborative work with students from the PharmD program (Ms. Nada Jiaan & Ms. Shahad Alshamil), Dr. Eman El-labbad and Prof. Sherief Khalifa. The article is focused on looking at the Red Sea as a comparator marine environment and bioactive materials repertoire to provide a futuristic perspective on the potential of the understudied and possibly overlooked bioactive metabolites derived from the marine life of the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman despite its proven biodiversity and harsher environmental stress.
