Gulf Medical University’s College of Pharmacy Expands its Global Footprint at Newgiza University’s International Pharmacy Conference

Professor Muhammad Al-Shorbagy, Dean of the College of Pharmacy at Gulf Medical University (GMU), was invited as a distinguished guest speaker at the 3rd International Conference “Innovative Pharmaceutical Horizons: Bridging Science, Education, and Green Practices” hosted by Newgiza University (NGU), Egypt, on April 9–10, 2025.

Under the esteemed patronage of the Egyptian Drug Authority and in collaboration with University College London (UCL), this high-impact event brought together academic leaders, researchers, students, and professionals from across the region to shape the future of pharmacy practice and education.

Prof. Al-Shorbagy delivered a thought-provoking session titled: “From Blueprint to Battlefield: Middle Eastern Pharmacists—Misarmed Soldiers or Unsung Heroes?”

His talk shed light on the pivotal, yet often overlooked, role of pharmacists in the Middle East, navigating challenges in conflict zones, under-resourced systems, and evolving healthcare needs—while continuing to deliver essential services to their communities. The session resonated deeply with the audience and emphasized the importance of regional collaboration and policy advocacy in pharmacy education.

This participation marks yet another milestone in the College of Pharmacy’s commitment to leading pharmacy education initiatives and sharing best practices across borders. It reflects our strategic vision to build strong academic partnerships, promote sustainable healthcare education, and advance professional development globally.
