On June 09, 2024, the GMU Pharmacy Students’ Association (GPSA), UAE, organized its 2nd General Assembly at the College of Pharmacy, Gulf Medical University. This pivotal event saw active participation from GPSA members who engaged in vibrant discussions and deliberations concerning the association’s future.
The assembly commenced with presentations of annual reports from the outgoing executive committee, providing a comprehensive overview of their achievements and activities over the past academic year 2023-24. These reports highlighted the dedication and hard work of the team led by GPSA President Mr. Mohammed Majdoub. One of the key highlights of the assembly was the election of the new executive committee, marking a significant transition in leadership within GPSA. As the previous executive committee concluded their term, a dedicated new team is set to take the helm, guiding the association forward.
To ensure a seamless transition and capitalize on the invaluable experience of the outgoing executive committee members, an advisory board has been established. This advisory board, composed of the former executive committee members, will provide essential support and guidance to the incoming team during this transitional phase. Their collective insights and expertise are expected to greatly assist the new leadership in effectively fulfilling their roles and responsibilities.
The incoming executive committee, with the advisory board’s mentorship, is well-positioned to steer GPSA towards continued growth and success. The General Assembly underscored the importance of member participation in shaping the future direction of GPSA, reflecting the collaborative spirit that drives the association.
Dr. Ahmed El Ouweini, GPSA Advisor, played a crucial role in facilitating the General Assembly, ensuring the proceedings were productive and aligned with the association’s goals. His guidance has been instrumental in fostering a supportive environment for both outgoing and incoming executive members.
As the General Assembly drew to a close, certificates were distributed to recognize the outstanding contributions of GPSA members. Awards were given for the best member of each committee and the best member of the year in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places, celebrating the hard work and dedication of these exceptional individuals.
The General Assembly was a testament to the strong sense of community and shared purpose among GPSA members. With the new executive committee at the helm and the advisory board’s support, the future of GPSA shines brightly, promising continued excellence and innovation in serving the students and the broader community.
