During the Holy month of Ramadan, IVPN-Network and Lebanese Pharmacy Students Association (LPSA) co-organized a series of webinars related to Ramadan fasting and its health benefits, along with medications and nutrition management during the month of Ramadan. On April 5th, which marked the first session of this series, Dr. Ahmad El Ouweini, Clinical Lecturer, GMU College of Pharmacy and Critical Care Clinical Pharmacist, Preceptor at Thumbay University Hospital, was invited as a speaker on: “Fasting and Health: Exploring Potential Benefits.” During his presentation, Dr. El Ouweini explored the many ways in which fasting can impact our physical and mental health. From improving insulin sensitivity and reducing inflammation, to boosting brain function and promoting longevity, the benefits of fasting are truly remarkable. The presentation was highly engaging, with attendees asking numerous questions and seeking practical tips on how to incorporate fasting into their daily lives. Dr. Ahmad provided valuable insights and recommendations, backed by research and well-established evidence in the field. Overall, the presentation was a powerful reminder of the importance of continued education and research in the healthcare industry, as well as the value of collaboration and sharing knowledge across different disciplines.
