GMU’s Dr. Ahmad El Ouweini Speaks on Managing Medications During Ramadan

On February 23, 2024, Dr. Ahmad El Ouweini, Clinical Lecturer, College of Pharmacy, Gulf Medical University and Critical Care Clinical Pharmacist, Thumbay University Hospital was invited as a speaker at this culturally diverse three-part webinar series “Managing Medications During Ramadan” hosted by the University of Colorado – Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. This series focused on Muslim patients and what healthcare providers need to consider when it comes to fasting practices during the holy month of Ramadan. The audience gained the knowledge and resources to care for their patients while they observed their religious commitments. Dr. El Ouweini presented to healthcare professionals and students from across the US schools of pharmacy. In this interactive presentation, Dr. Ahmad covered the following points:
