Gulf Medical University’s Journal Club series featured a presentation by one of its own faculty from the College of Pharmacy on the use of corticosteroids in severe community-acquired pneumonia. Dr. Ahmad El Ouweini, Clinical Lecturer, GMU College of Pharmacy and Critical Care Clinical Pharmacist, Preceptor at Thumbay University Hospital, highlighted on the CAPE-COD Trial, which evaluated the efficacy of hydrocortisone IV infusion in critically ill patients admitted with severe community acquired pneumonia. The presentation sparked a lively discussion among attendees, with many expressing interest in further research on the topic and potential collaborations.
