GMU & RAK Colleges of Pharmacy Renew their Vows and Gear up for a Stronger Collaborative Research Engagement

On September 12, 2023, Dr. Sherief Khalifa, Vice Chancellor for Quality and Institutional Effectiveness and Dean, College of Pharmacy and Dr. Muhammed Abdullatif, Associate Professor of Pharmacology and Toxicology visited RAK Medical and Health Sciences University, College of Pharmacy in response to an invitation from Dr. Mohamed El-Tanani, Vice President – Research and Post-Graduate Studies and Dean of RAK College of Pharmacy. During the visit, Dr. Khalifa and Dr. Abdullatif were honored to meet Dr. Ali Hajeer, Vice President of Academic Affairs; Dr. K.V.R.N.S Ramesh, Associate Dean of RAKCOP & Professor of Pharmaceutics; Dr. Bhoomendra Bhongade, Professor & Chairperson of the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry; and Dr. Sathvik B. Sridhar, Professor and Chairperson of the Department of Clinical Pharmacy & Pharmacology.

The meeting served to lay down a plan to fortify the existing partnership between the two Colleges. The plan includes joint faculty research seminars and collaborative research projects taking advantage of the complementary expertise and complementary research infrastructure in both institutions.

Dean Khalifa commented: “It was a pleasure to meet Vice Chancellor and Dean Prof. El Tanani and his team. It was also great to see that we share the same vision in advancing the research agenda for our respective colleges and institutions. The potential opportunities and synergy in advancing the quality and productivity in research and innovation are endless and we look forward to the journey the lies ahead”.
