GMU PharmD Students give a Lecture on Personal Hygiene to City American School Students

On November 17th 2021, Year 4 and Year 3 PharmD students gave a lecture on the importance and steps of personal hygiene to elementary and middle school students of City American School Ajman. The lecture by PharmD students was organized as a collaborative community outreach program between College of Pharmacy, Gulf Medical University and it’s academic hospital, Thumbay University Hospital Ajman. The session was followed by distribution of personal hygiene and care products to the attending students and teachers of the school.

Ms. Fatima Bashir, Fourth year PharmD student commented, “Unlike other community engagements, this was different as we found ourselves engaging with young minds who were very confident and curious, and gaining new perspective. We were able to present our lecture in the assembly room to female students aged 9-13 years, questions and games were played to keep it interactive. The experience was amazing as it boosted our confidence and team work skills among my student colleagues.”
