On 7th of April, Ms. Keerthana Selvaraju, a student of third year PharmD, participated and won the 4th place under the innovative category in DUPHAT 2021, by student poster “Formulation and Evaluation of Sustained Release Tablets Containing Salbutamol Sulphate Loaded Lipid Microparticles Using Rosin as Matrix Former”. Keerthana demonstrated a work frame which concluded that tablets prepared from lipid microparticles distributed in natural matrix forming polymer, rosin could be successfully used for sustained delivery of salbutamol sulphate or other water-soluble drugs. This work was conducted by a collaborative effort with Ms. Huda Jaafar, Mr. Omar Hussein, Ms. Theres Babu, third year PharmD students and Dr. Reham Khaled Abu Hijjleh, Teaching Assistant, under the supervision of Dr. Shery Jacob, Professor of Pharmaceutics at the Pharmaceutical Sciences Department, College of Pharmacy, GMU.
