On 22nd September 2022, GMU Pharmacy Students’ Association (GPSA) organized a bake sale as their first fundraising event. The aim of the bake sale was to raise funds for the association’s activities, as well as celebrate world pharmacists’ day. The event took place at the GMU foyer from 10 am till 2 pm.
During those four hours, all GMU students and faculty were welcome to purchase from a verity of baked goods (donuts, pizza, croissants, etc.). Accompanying each purchase was a piece of A7 paper including one fun fact about pharmacy to increase the general public knowledge about the profession of pharmacy. Additionally, there were ten pharmacy fun facts displayed on posters behind the bake sale for everyone passing by to be able to read. Finally, students and faculty were encouraged to take pictures of the event using the GPSA-world pharmacists’ day Instagram filter.
