On August 15, 2022, GMU Pharmacy Students’ Association (GPSA), the first pharmacy students’ association in Ajman, has been accepted and announced as a member organization in the International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation (IPSF), the largest and the leading international advocacy organization for pharmacy and pharmaceutical science students and recent graduates around the world. IPSF promotes improved public health and pharmacy career advancement through the provision of information, education, networking and a range of publications and professional initiatives. GPSA was established in September 2021 representing PharmD students across different years in GMU College of Pharmacy. GPSA, through this international recognition, seeks to be a leading pharmacy student organization that connects pharmacy students in Ajman, Northern Emirates and all over UAE, in order to foster collaborations, share best practices and improve overall education and practice experiences.

Dean Sherief Khalifa commented: “Our pharmacy students at GMU are excited about this valuable affiliation with IPSF. They understand the opportunities that will come about for them as they engage with pharmacy students around the world and become the agents of change and the leaders of the pharmacy profession of tomorrow”.
