In an important milestone for the College of Pharmacy at GMU, the GPSA (GMU Pharmacy Students’ Association) recently organized its first General Assembly on June 25th, 2023. The event marked a significant moment for the association, as amendments were made to the GPSA constitution, annual reports of the previous executive committee were approved, and a new executive committee was elected.
During the General Assembly, members of the GPSA actively participated in discussions and deliberations regarding the association’s future. The amendments made to the GPSA constitution aimed to enhance the organization’s efficiency and effectiveness in serving the needs of pharmacy students.
One of the highlights of the event was the election of the new executive committee, signalling a transition of leadership within the association. As the previous executive committee, led by Ishaaq Aba Bagnan, concluded their term, a fresh team of dedicated individuals will take charge of guiding GPSA forward. The new executive committee will officially assume their roles on September 4th, 2023.
To ensure a smooth transition and benefit from the invaluable experience of the outgoing executive committee members, they will form an advisory board to support and guide the incoming executive committee during this transition period. This advisory board, consisting of the previous executive committee members, will provide valuable insights and expertise to assist the new leadership in effectively carrying out their responsibilities.
The incoming executive committee, along with the guidance of the advisory board, is poised to chart a promising course for the upcoming mandates, ensuring the continued growth and success of the association.
The General Assembly served as an important platform for members to actively participate in shaping the future direction of GPSA. As the new executive committee assumes their responsibilities, the college of pharmacy extends its best wishes and support to the incoming team.
