GMU Master of Science in Drug Discovery and Development Student Vimal Singh Presents in the World Congress of Basic & Clinical Pharmacology 2023 – Glasgow, Scotland

On July 2-7, 2023,  at the WCP2023 – World Congress of Basic & Clinical Pharmacology, MDD student Vimal Singh presented a research poster entitled “In-silico Computer-Aided Drug Design of Novel Resveratrol Analogues as Potential Phosphodiesterase-4 Inhibitors Having Potential Blood-Brain Barrier Permeability.” The research aimed to utilize rational and computational methods to develop new resveratrol analogs and assess their potential as phosphodiesterase-4 inhibitors, with a specific focus on their ability to penetrate the blood-brain barrier. The project is supervised by Dr. Eman M. El-labbad, Assistant Professor of Medicinal Chemistry and Assistant Dean of Assessment and Evaluation at the College of Pharmacy. Vimal Singh’s presentation shed light on the promising applications of computer-aided drug design, showcasing its capacity to identify novel compounds with potential therapeutic benefits.
