GMU Master of Science in Drug Discovery and Development (MDD) Receives Accreditation By The Commission for Academic Accreditation, UAE

The College of Pharmacy is proud to announce the initial accreditation of its new Master of Science in Drug Discovery and Development (MDD) Program by the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA), Ministry of Education, Higher Education Affairs, UAE. The program is offered in collaboration with the College of Pharmacy at the University of Arizona (UA). Students in the program will have a co-supervisor from the University of Arizona and part of the research will be conducted in UA research laboratories. The didactic courses will include learning sessions from UA faculty and the seminar courses will be delivered jointly between UA and GMU. The new master’s program in Drug Discovery and Development is the newest addition to the college with three main research areas: Drug Design and Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmacology and experimental therapeutics and Pharmaceutics and drug delivery.
With the expertise of our faculty members, we believe that this program will advance the research in the drug discovery and development at GMU and in the country along with the in-house GMU Thumbay Research Institute for Precision Medicine (TRIPM) with its state-of-the-art research equipment and highly qualified research faculty who will be an important asset for the master’s program. The first cohort of students will be joining the MDD program in September 2020.
