GMU College of Pharmacy Partners with IVPN Network in delivering a CPD Activity on Pain Management

GMU College of Pharmacy proudly continues to generate tangible, influential outcomes from its fruitful partnership with IVPN-Network. For the second time, GMU College of Pharmacy contributes to the execution and delivery of one of the IVPN Webinars (IVPN-AR), namely on “Pain Management: A Patient-Centered Approach” that took place on February 5, 2022. During this event, Professor Sherief Khalifa, Dean of GMU College of Pharmacy and Vice Chancellor for Quality & Global Engagement, moderated this webinar and commented on its importance for all healthcare professionals and how seeing a physician and pharmacist presenting shapes a better picture for the patient who should be always the leader of their own care plan. Additionally, Dr. Ahmad El Ouweini, Clinical Lecturer, College of Pharmacy, Gulf Medical University & Clinical Preceptor/Pharmacist, Thumbay University Hospital, delivered a presentation on “NSAIDs in Pain Management: An Evidence Review.” During his presentation, he highlighted the guidelines-directed place of NSAIDs in our daily practice, Safety and efficacy of NSAIDs use in COVID-19 patients, and the Clinical pearls for pharmacists to manage NSAIDs and monitor their safety and efficacy.
