On January 13, 2023, GMU College of Pharmacy organized a historic event “Middle East Conference on Pharmacist-Administered Vaccination” participating different stakeholders in the region. The conference was conducted at Shangri-La Hotel in Dubai. The Conference was supported by a grant from Pfizer INC. Highlights of the Conference were as follows;
- Over 150 onsite, 168 unique viewers and a total of 400 online participants; pharmacists, regulators, industry representatives, and academicians.
- Participants from 23 countries, 14 Universities, and 49 pharmacies or hospitals.
- Participating pharmacists who are administrators of vaccines shared real-world evidence.
- More pharmacies in the Middle East planning to start vaccination services.
- More vaccinations, like pneumococcal and meningococcal vaccinations, are advocated for pharmacists to administer.
- High feedback on the effectiveness of the conference from the participants.
