GMU College of Pharmacy Hosts Dr. Nadeem Alduaij to Deliver a Seminar on: “Poison and Drug Information Service”

On September 11th, GMU College of Pharmacy hosted Dr. Nadeem Alduaij, who is a Consultant physician in Emergency Medicine and Medical Toxicology and currently serves as a Consultant for the Research and Innovation Center at the Department of Health Abu Dhabi, where he supported the establishment of the Poison and Drug Information Service. He was also accompanied by two senior pharmacy specialists working with him in the Research and Innovation Center, Dr. Iqra Mubeen and Dr. Samia Ghennai.

During his visit, Dr. Nadeem met with the College’s executive team. During this meeting, they discussed the areas of mutual collaboration between GMU College of Pharmacy and the Poison and Drug Information Service (PDIS) on the levels of undergraduate education, experiential training, research, and professional development webinars.

This meeting was followed by a seminar delivered by Dr. Nadeem to the faculty, PharmD students from different undergraduate years, along with postgraduate PG PharmD and Master of Clinical Pharmacy students. During this seminar, Dr. Nadeem highlighted the need for national poison and drug information center and the benefits it brings to the community and healthcare, followed by description of the timeline of establishing the UAE national poison and drug information center, its operations, divisions, future expansion visions, and strategic partners.
