Achievement Spotlight: GMU’s College of Pharmacy celebrates achievements of Students and Recent Alumni in the Annual Coffee and Cake 2023

On October, 2023, the College of Pharmacy, Gulf Medical University celebrated the annual “Coffee and Cake” celebration, marking the students and recent alumni achievements of the academic year 2022-2023.

The proceedings commenced with Opening Remarks by Prof. Sherief Khalifa, the Dean of the College of Pharmacy and Vice Chancellor for Quality & Institutional Effectiveness.

Dean Khalifa acknowledged and recognized the accomplished students from all Cohorts who made it to the ‘Dean’s List’, each receiving a certificate of achievement.

The College also honored the students who served the academic community of GMU:

  • College Committees’ Members
  • Class representatives
  • Student Happiness Center members
  • GMU Pharmacy Students Association ExCo
  • IVPN/GMU Student Club ExCo

The college welcomed our Special Guest, Ms. Mariyam Siddiqui, Regional Talent Acquisition Specialist, Middle East & Africa, AbbVie pharmaceutical who handed out certificates to students and alumni who actively participated in the career advising sessions provided by AbbVie during the previous academic year.

The GMU Pharmacy Students’ Association (GPSA) added a dynamic element by introducing their newly elected Executive Committee and presenting their ambitious agenda for the academic year 2023-2024.

Overall, “Coffee & Cake 2023” not only fostered a sense of unity among students, alumni, and faculty but also provided a platform for the invaluable exchange of insights and forward-looking plans.

Dean Sherief Khalifa commented, “Coffee & Cake 2023 was a time to celebrate the success of our students. The greatest achievement for our students is the ability to help others in the community and to see the impact of the service they are providing. Congratulations to our servant leaders!”.
