This July 2023, GMU PharmD Students are spending their Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experience (IPPE) with BinSina Pharmacy. This unique opportunity goes beyond dispending to include all components of patient care making the pharmacy practice experience exciting and rewarding.
This hands-on experience has shown to be an invaluable bridge between theoretical knowledge and practical application, empowering students to witness the real-world impact of their education.
During the program, students actively engage in the day-to-day operations of BinSina Pharmacy, including dispensing medications, compounding prescriptions, counseling patients, and collaborating with healthcare professionals. This immersive experience not only enhances their technical expertise but also nurtures critical skills such as communication, teamwork, and problem solving.
Dean Sherief Khalifa commented: “I was pleased to learn from our students that they found the community pharmacy rotation at BinSina pharmacy to be extremely rewarding. Engaging the students in all aspects of community practice including the business side has given them the full picture and a broad understanding of the value of the profession in the community setting.
