Following the announcement of the Fall 2021 Board of Pharmacy Specialities results, GMU PharmD Alumni and College of Pharmacy’s Preceptors Dr. Fithawit Bahran, Dr. Jumana Al-Salloum, Dr. Rizah Anwar Assadi passed the Pharmacotherapy certification examination.
The preceptors are involved in training GMU PharmD students at Thumbay University Hospital (TUH) in Ajman. This certification will serve to strengthen the quality of the training, education and the clinical services provided at TUH in the future.
Board certification through the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (a division of the American Pharmacists Association) is recognized as the gold standard for determining which pharmacists are qualified to contribute at advanced practice levels.
Dean Sherief Khalifa commented: “We are very proud of our PharmD alumni as they are true achievers and role models for their students and other junior pharmacists. They will continue to train GMU PharmD students and to introduce new clinical pharmacy services at the University Hospital. They are change agents who are contributing to better care for the patients of UAE and setting high standards for the pharmacy profession”.
