Clinical Problems in Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) and IV Therapy course, offered by GMU College of Pharmacy, prepares the students to learn from top-notch institutions and practitioners with regards to the preparation, administration and monitoring of Parenteral Nutrition solutions and IV therapies. In continuation to the field trip of the students to Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi (CCAD) earlier this month, the enriching hands-on experience was culminated by a virtual demonstration that took place on December 19, 2021 to our students from the Pharmacotherapy Specialist, Dr. Ruba Dajani, on TPN ordering process.
During this meeting, Dr. Dajani has demonstrated the TPN prescribing and monitoring process through a patient case scenario, using Epic Electronic Health Record system. Through this interactive live session with the students, she also discussed some challenging situations in managing TPN therapy and how to overcome them to provide the safest and most effective regimen for our patients.
