GMU APPE Students Organize a Career Counseling Session on the Pharmacist Role on Public Health and Humanitarian Projects

On 7 March, 2024, 5th year APPE students, as part of their Academic Pharmacy rotation, organized a Career Counseling Session for students at the college of pharmacy.

The workshop titled: Public Health Pharmacist: Exploring The Career Journey  By Dr. Ali Farhat, The Founder of PharmaPlus Co. and Co-founder of La Pharma & Amal Pharmacies in Lebanon. The Mission Pharmacy Manager at the Humanitarian Project MSF – Lebanon.

Through this live session, Dr. Ali shared his career journey starting from working as a hospital pharmacist, then moving into academia, followed by clinical practice and being board certified pharmacotherapy specialist, reaching the economic and political critical situations that Lebanon passed through and how he navigated through these difficult situations and established a career path for him in public health and humanitarian projects. This path started when he obtained his Master in Public Health degree, and worked with NGOs that promote public health and humanitarian work. Dr. Ali then explained to the audience about the skills and certifications needed to be involved and progress through this career path.
