On November 2, 2022, The UAE Ministry of Education, Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) concluded a 3-day workshop focused on quality assurance in higher education. A wide range of presentations, expert opinions and activities were designed to tackle issues like 2019 standards, the self-study, course files, learning outcomes, internal quality assurance, benchmarking & KPIs and academic integrity.
The workshop was extremely valuable to the participants as it allowed for sharing of best practices between UAE institutions, opportunities for networking and a close interaction with CAA commissioners in a friendly environment.
The picture above shows one of the groups (table 1) which had 9 participants from 9 different higher education institutions in the country. There were 8 groups. In total 72 HEI were represented in this workshop. Congratulations to CAA on a very successful and fruitful event and thank you the University of Dubai for your hospitality and for hosting the workshop.
