Clinicians around the world trust UpToDate as their go-to, must-have evidence-based clinical decision support resource to help them make smart, safe patient care decisions. UpToDate launched their Certified Trainer Program finds engaged and motivated individuals within their subscribing institutions to help their clinicians understand how to access and get the best out of UpToDate. Gulf Medical University has an official subscription to UpToDate that the students community uses in their courses and during their training. Dr. Ahmad El Ouweini, a clinical lecturer at GMU’s college of pharmacy and clinical pharmacist and preceptor at Thumbay University Hospital (TUH), became the first UpToDate certified trainer from Gulf Medical University. Dr. Ahmad is planning to improve patient care within GMU by training the pharmacy practice team and pharmacy students to implement UpToDate tools in improving pharmacy education and ultimately direct patient care.
