On September 28, 2021 Professor Sherief Khalifa presented to a team of approximately 90 Pharmacy Education leaders worldwide on a topic related to transforming pharmacy education post COVID-19:
“Remote Learning to Hybrid Model”
The presentation introduced the difference between remote, distance, online, blended, hybrid and hyfelx learning. Highlighted were some key elements impacting the decision of an institution regarding face-to-face versus other teaching and learning modalities including, the different learning styles of students and the IT infrastructure at the institution, the home of the students and the faculty. It also addressed the COVID situation as an accelerator for student centered learning. Other relevant issues included assessment during distance learning and assessing the higher levels of learning.

Dean Khalifa commented: “The forum was an excellent opportunity to share our experience at Gulf Medical University and to listen to colleagues around the world about their post COVID plans in pharmacy education”.
