On Monday, May 5, 2025, the College of Pharmacy welcomed a delegation from the Forensic Toxicology Department of Dubai Police led by Dr. Fuad Tarbah, Forensic Toxicology Consultant, accompanied by Ms. Hamda Balshalat and Ms. Fatma Al Suwaidi, Forensic Toxicology Experts at the Dubai Police General Headquarters.

The visit commenced by a meeting with Prof. Muhammad Al-Shorbagy, Dean of the College of Pharmacy. The discussion was centered around the collaborative projects between the two institutions, emphasizing the vital role of linking academia with national institutions to enhance both educational and research opportunities in the field of forensic toxicology. Emphasis was placed on the importance of practical exposure in equipping pharmacy students with the necessary skills and applied knowledge in forensic toxicology.
Following the meeting, the delegation was given a guided tour of GMU’s advanced facilities, including Sterile Compounding Lab., Drug Discovery and Innovation Research Lab., Thumbay Research Institute for Precision Medicine (TRIPM), and Confocal Microscopy Laboratory.
This visit marked a step toward fostering collaboration, aligning academic training with forensic practices to better prepare students for future challenges in the healthcare and forensic sectors.
