On December 27th, the College of Pharmacy at Gulf Medical University conducted a faculty development seminar titled “Artificial Intelligence Tools for Academicians.” The seminar, which took place at the University’s main campus, was led by Dr. Muhammad Al-Shorbagy, Associate Dean Academic, and focused on the use of AI-driven chatbots to assist academicians in their research, teaching, and administrative tasks.
During the seminar, Dr. Al-Shorbagy discussed the role of these chatbots, which have been trained with billions of parameters to offer help to users in various domains. He provided real-world examples of how these tools can be used to save time and enrich the work of academicians in research, academic, and administrative contexts.
The seminar was well-attended by faculty members, who showed great interest in learning more about these tools and exploring their potential usefulness.

Dean Sherief Khalifa commented: “The AI tools described in this seminar are very attractive to academicians and other professionals who strive to use their time efficiently. Our College is expected to be more productive, and our colleagues will be able to enhance their work life balance”.
