On Friday 24th June 2022, the College of Pharmacy organized a Faculty Development Session titled: “Sharing Best Practices in Assessment”.
The Session provided a practice sharing platform for continuous quality improvements. Faculty shared and reflected on their practices in the development of checklists, rating scales, and rubric in assessing students’ performance. Chancellor Hamdy who is also a professor of Medical Education, joined the session near the end and provided valuable insights into our assessment practices.
Dean Khalifa commented: “This faculty development session is the beginning of a series of sessions where faculty will share their practices and discuss improvements to the existing teaching and learning practices in the college of pharmacy. The discussions showed that improvements do not necessarily come from outside or from external experts. It is obvious that our internal expertise is excellent and diverse and improvements that are suitable to our context are well on the way.”
