Friday 28th October 2022, the College of Pharmacy organized a Faculty Development Session titled: “Insights on Co-curricular Activities Development & Assessment”. The session was delivered by Dr. Dave Weldon, Associate dean of Pharmacy and Assessment, Associate Professor of Medicinal Chemistry, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, William Care University, USA.

During the session, Dr. Dave shared with GMU faculty practices of co-curricular activity development and assessment at the College of Pharmacy, William Carey University. Dr. Dave illustrated “how to map cocurricular activity with CAPE educational outcomes at the program level”. At the end of the session, Dr. Dave engaged in a Q & session with the attendees, sharing reflections on co-curricular activity mapping and assessment at both institutes.

Dr. Dixon Thomas, Associate Dean Clinical, College of Pharmacy reflected on the session “Dr. Dave provided insights on creating an efficient model of co-curricular activities that are assessed systematically without creating burden on students and faculty “.
Dr. Eman El-labbad, Assistant Dean of Assessment & Evaluation College of Pharmacy commented “it was a great opportunity to share reflections, experience, and practices on co-curricular activity development, mapping, and assessment at college of Pharmacy William Care University & Gulf Medical University to provide our students with learning experiences beyond traditional classroom setting“.
