College of Pharmacy, Faculty Development on “Developing, Norming, and Validating Rubrics by Multiple Raters” by Dr. Melissa S. Medina

On Monday 14th November 2022, the College of Pharmacy organized a Faculty Development Session titled: “Developing, Norming, And Validating Rubrics by Multiple Raters”. The session was delivered by Dr. Melissa S. Medina the Associate Dean for Assessment and Evaluation, at the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy.

During the session, Dr. Medina provided an overview on 3 types of grading tools faculty can use to assess student performance including checklist, rating scales and rubrics.  This was followed by describing psychometrics addressed when norming a rubric. Finally, Dr. Medina described steps for creating and norming rubrics by multiple ratters.
