On Wednesday 15th February 2023, College of Pharmacy Faculty Dr. Eman El-labbad Assistant dean of assessment and evaluation, and Dr. Syed Wasif Chair, Department of Pharmacy Practice, engaged with 130 international pharmacy students in the 1st Global International Pharmaceutical Student’s Federation (IPSF) Research Lab Project by presenting an online session entitled “ Developing the Research Question”. The IPSF Lab Project is a global initiative aimed at encouraging pharmacy students to engage in research activities and develop their skills in the field of pharmacy research. The project provides students with the opportunity to work on research projects, collaborate with other students from different parts of the world, and gain valuable research experience.
During the session, Dr. El-labbad and Dr. Wasif emphasized the importance of developing a clear research question that is focused, relevant, and feasible. They provided examples and practical tips to help the students identify research questions that are aligned with their interests and the objectives of the IPSF Research Lab Project.


The session was well-received by the students, who appreciated the opportunity to learn from experienced faculty members and to interact with their peers from around the world. Many students expressed their enthusiasm for the project and their eagerness to apply the knowledge and skills they gained during the session to their research projects.

Dr. Eman commented “ it is a great pleasure to be part of the first global IPSF Research Lab Project. It is an opportunity to “pay it forward “ and share the passion of research in pharmaceutical sciences and pharmacy education with the future leaders of pharmacy education, research, and practice.“
Dr. Syed Commented “The 1st Global IPSF Research Lab Project was an exceptional event that brought together researchers, students, and healthcare professionals from all over the world to collaborate and develop innovative research ideas. I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the organizing body for their outstanding efforts in organizing this event. I believe that this type of collaboration is essential for advancing research and improving healthcare outcomes.”
The College of Pharmacy is proud to have contributed to the IPSF Research Lab Project and to support the development of the next generation of pharmacy researchers. The faculty members look forward to continuing their involvement in the project and to seeing the outcomes of the students’ research in the future.
