In a remarkable achievement, the College of Pharmacy represented by Dr. Diana Malaeb as the Principle Investigator along with Dr. Eman Moussa El Labbad as Co-Investigator have received the FIP BPS Award. The achievement of this award is the result of the cumulative efforts of Dr. Malaeb and Dr. EL Labbad in collaboration with Dr. Wasim El Nekidy from Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Ammar Jaber from Dubai Pharmacy College for Girls, Dr. Muna Barakat from Applied Science Private University, and Dr. Samar Younes from Lebanese International University. The FIP BPS Award is a highly esteemed recognition given to non-US based investigators and pharmacists to seek financial support for research projects related to BPS Board Certification. BPS sponsored only one research grant of up to 5000 euro.

The project is entitled” Evaluating Pharmacist Certification in the Middle East: Triangulated Perspectives and Experiences among Healthcare Providers, Pharmacists, and Pharmacy Students on Pharmacist Roles as Interprofessional Collaborator, Communicator and Educator”. The aim of this grant is to assess the impact of pharmacist board certification on specialization and advanced practice through evaluating the impact on patients levels, healthcare systems, interprofessional collaboration, and pharmacist employment.
