On Nov 06, 2023, the first of its kind in the Northern Emirates, a Collaborative Practice Agreement was signed between GMU College of Pharmacy and Thumbay University Hospital to establish the Anticoagulation Counseling Clinic. GMU’s American Board Certified Cardiology Clinical Pharmacist Dr. Seeba Zachariah, is starting an Anticoagulation Counseling Clinic at Thumbay University Hospital in collaboration with a cardiologist and obstetrician.

GMU College of Pharmacy Dean Sherief Khalifa commented: “Expanding the scope of pharmacy practice and adding more clinical services to pharmacy in our university hospital is an important impact the College of Pharmacy is having on practice. This is part of our mission to advance interprofessional collaborative practice with the purpose of improving care and creating innovative pharmacy practice models in our students’ academic environment”.
